Oppenheimer is one of the most anticipated films of 2023, and fans of Christopher Nolan are going wild with each passing day! It is almost time, as the film is releasing on 21 July 2023. It is considered one of the longest films by Christopher Nolan as the screen time is over 3 hours.
The film Oppenheimer is based on the renowned physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his life revolved around his contribution to the success of the creation of atomic bombs that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The titular role has been played by the enigmatic Cillian Murphy, along with an A-rated Hollywood cast.
In the film, Robert Downey Jr. plays the character of Lewis Strauss, the nemesis of Oppenheimer. Lewis Strauss was heading the US Atomic Energy Commission before Oppenheimer, and the film frames a head-to-head battle between the two. Downey is the supporting player, integrating a wily, shrewd, powerful, and insecure character!
Oppenheimer’s wife, Kitty, is played by Emily Blunt, who is mostly in the background. However, the role has some major scenes, and Blunt plays to her power. Simultaneously, Matt Damon plays Leslie Groves, the army general who manages the Manhattan Project. He is accessible in his down-to-earth personality.
Florence Pugh has a small role as Jean Tatlock, a communist having an affair with Oppenheimer. Pugh has beautifully portrayed the character as mentally unstable and quite volatile. Kenneth Branagh plays the physicist Niels Bohr who acts as the conscience and the mentor of Oppenheimer.
The film has been shot in widescreen format. Hence, the visual experience will be excellent compared to any movie you have seen. You will see sections of the film in black and white which have been created for specific reasons and are quite appropriate for the storyline.
The plot has been developed so that Nolan will be portraying both the dark and the light in his protagonist, and who could be a better actor to play such a role than Cillian Murphy? So, world? Are we ready to see the mind behind the mass murder in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
