I get it. You are addicted to platform-racing games like Slope unblocked. These games are excellent, super fast, and text your reflexes to their limits. But you would prefer a car instead of a ball because that screams your need for speed. Therefore, let me present to you - Tunnel Rush.

If you are bored with traditional racing games where you need to spin around tracks, this racer can be a change of pace. And when I mean pace, I mean this game is waaay faster. Fast enough to send your vehicle in flames if your reflexes are not up to the mark.

Therefore, if you wish to test your mettle in this visually-aesthetic and trippy platform racer, read this post until the end!

What Is Tunnel Rush?

What Is Tunnel Rush

Tunnel Rush is one of the best racing games I have played. While racing game stalwarts like Need for Speed Asphalt, Forza Horizon, and Gran Turismo are excellent, racing in this game feels waaaay faster than the rest. But how different is it from the other racing games?

First off, Rush Tunnel is not just a racing game. I prefer calling this game a racing and platforming hybrid game.

All the tracks contain myriad obstacles and platforms in your way that you must dodge and jump over to survive. Make one mistake, and that might spell doom for you. Your reflexes and overall racing senses will be judged here, unlike any other racing game I have played.

This game has become famous over the years because of its visuals like a Star Wars Hyper Drift sequence. Now, when I say Star Wars, I don’t refer to the new trilogy (Episodes 7, 8, 9). Here, I refer to the original trilogy (Episodes 4, 5, 6). This is because this game has a retro vibe to it, which makes drifting through the stages even more visually unique.

The music of this game is excellent, with modern techno beats mixed with retro disco and electro pop soundscapes. This makes traversing the psychedelic tunnels at the light of speed even more exhilarating and interesting. If you are at a rave party, you can simply play this game connected to speakers and see the party still going strong well after midnight!

Where Can I Play Tunnel Rush?

If you wish to play Tunnel Rush, get excited (and less worried) since there are two different ways to play. I tried out the following two methods, which worked perfectly for me:

1. PlayStore (Android) Or App Store (iOS)

The bestway to play Tunnel Rush Mania (the sequel to Tunnel Rush) is playing it on your smartphone. If you are an Android user, you can download it from the PlayStore. If you use an iPhone or iPad, then you must download it from the iOS app store. The game is free and only has a 74 MB download!

This is my favorite way to play this game because instead of on screen controls, you can control the motions of your spaceship simply by tilting your phone and moving it around like an actual spacecraft.

In reality, most people hate motion controls, and therefore prefer buttoned on-screen controls. However, the opposite is true for me. I have more fun playing racing games with motion controls compared to tapping on floating buttons on-screen.

2. Tunnel Rush Unblocked

Tunnel Rush Unblocked

If you wish to experience the original Tunnel Rush experience before giving Tunnel Rush 2 unblocked a try, playing unblocked Tunnel Rush is the best way to enjoy this game.

This is the original version of the game, which is available for free on various websites. Simply search for Tunnel Rush unblocked in Google and you will get various websites to play this game from, for free. This is similar to playing Geometry Dash unblocked!

This is the original method that I used to try out this game before Tunnel Rush Mania came out. Here are some of the websites that will let you play this game for free, directly from your browser without requiring any downloads!

How To Play Tunnel Rush?

Playing Tunnel Rush ain’t easy. It's easy to get addicted, but that’s because you will crash. Repeatedly. This failure of yours will actually motivate you to keep on trying to survive as long as possible. I say so because I faced the same.

Tunnel Rush is no doubt a difficult game. If you are playing on PC, then you have to use the arrow keys to control your movement.

You have the same options on your smartphone. However, you get the added benefit of using your smartphone’s inbuilt gyroscope for motion control.

Tunnel Rush Review: Speed, Momentum, Adrenaline

I have played this game a lot, and I only have three words to say for it - Needs More Speed!

This is a super fast paced game with trippy psychedelic visuals that complements the speed perfectly. One second, I’m in a tunnel full of black and white check boxes similar to a chess board. Two seconds later, everything is colorful with a rainbow palette. It's absurd - but perfectly so.

However, it cannot reach the heights it's destined to because of a lack of customization options. Even though you know you are driving a spacecraft, you never get to see it. This is because Tunnel Rush is a first-person racing game.

Therefore there are no unlockable spacecraft that you can customize and modify to get faster - in style! This factor limits this game to be just a time pass game while on commute. There is less incentive to play this game, since there are no unlockable rewards for doing so.

Final Verdict: Should I Play Tunnel Rush In 2023?

You should definitely try playing Tunnel Rush in 2023. Whether it's the unblocked version or Tunnel Rush Mania for smartphones - that’s all up to you. This is a free game that no one should sleep on, even if there are no real incentives to play this game for rewards since your only goal is to have fun beating your own high score. May the speed be with you.
