Taylor Swift has always flaunted her gal pals; one of her closest is Blake Lively. There is no one person who is unaware of the closeness of these two. At this point, they are in that stage of their friendship where, if you do not know the whereabouts of Lively, you would assume that she had joined Swift for her Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively are practically sisters now. Blake stayed close to her even when Tay’s entire girl gang disbanded her all those years ago. They have always been there for one another. Blake recently took some time off when she watched Travis Kelce play the Super Bowl, who is the new man in Tay’s life.
Let’s look back at their friendship over the years
Their friendship can be traced back to 2015, when they first connected. It started when Black shared a photo from the L’Oreal campaign, which had a snide reference to “Bad Blood,” which was a star-studded music video by Swift in the caption.
Even though the fans considered the caption shady, Lively cleared things up immediately and mentioned what a big Swiftie she was. Eventually, they met up one day in Australia and enjoyed an entire day together, and the rest is history.
Blake and Ryan, her husband, have supported Taylor and her music from the beginning of their friendship. They have a deep friendship that Blake’s daughter, James, is the baby voice in Reputation’s “Gorgeous” intro.
Tay has also featured Inez and Betty Renolds in the trilogy of songs, which shows the love triangle of a fictional folklore. Blake Lively even directed a music video for Red in 2021 (Taylor’s Version.) Let’s look back at their friendship over the years.
Taylor Swift And Blake Lively: Beginning Of An Unbreakable Friendship (2015)
The friendship began in December 2015 during the 1989 tour of Taylor Swift. The duo spent an entire day together in Australia, which was the beginning of this unbreakable bond. The duo spent the whole day at the Warner Bros Movie World theme park in Queensland.

They have attended various events and never missed a chance to party together. Ryan and Blake went to Swift’s 4th of July party in 2016. All of them appeared in a group photo together, and there was also a picture of Renolds and Lively with Tay and her then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston.

In November 2017, Swift dropped Reputation, and her fans were shocked to learn that the voice used in the opening of the song Gorgeous was James, Reynolds and Lively’s daughter.
Lively and Renolds were present in Swift’s 2018 Massachusetts Reputation tour. They reacted to their daughter’s voice and cheered for Sift as she performed onstage. They filmed Swift during her performance, and the audience could not stop talking about their bond.

Taylor Swift started her 2019 with an amazing costume party where the guests were all dressed as their favorite childhood heroes. Swift shared an image on her Insta handle of herself dressed as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, with Lively by her side dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.
In December 2019, the Deadpool star and the Gossip Girl alum attended Tay’s 30th birthday bash. The lovebirds were spotted kissing in a picture that Swift posted on Instagram.

And again, Tay featured Ryan Renolds and Blake Lively’s kids on her album Folklore. However, this time, it was just their names. She mentioned Betty, James, and Inez all in her song Betty. After winning Album of The Year at the 2021 Grammys, she mentioned her friends Reynolds and Lively throughout her speech.

Back in 2020, Blake wished Taylor a happy birthday through her Instagram profile. Lively also thanked Swift for Evermore, which was a new release. She wanted her with the caption, “There was happiness because of you. Happy happy birthday! Thank you for #Evermore! There’s nothing better than receiving gifts on others’ birthdays. love you.”

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have celebrated the holidays many times throughout the timeline of their friendship, and it was no different in 2021. The BFFs celebrated Halloween together, where Swift dressed as a squirrel and went trick-or-treating with Reynolds and Lively and their kids in NYC.
That year, Tay was a guest on Saturday Night Live in November. Blake and Ryan accompanied Taylor for the filming and showed their support. They also went to the afterparty with Swift.

Swifties were shocked when they learned that Swift was releasing another music video for “I Bet You Think Of Me” for her album Red (Taylor’s Version.) However, they were surprised and happy that Black Lively was directing the video.
After her SNL performance, Swift confirmed that Blake Lively was directing the video. On November 15, 2021, the video was released, the debut of Lively’s directing career. Swift posted a small TikTok video of Lively on set doing her job.

Taylor Swift was delighted when she was nominated for the ACM Awards for her video, “I Bet You Think About Me.” She posted a story on Instagram with the caption, “AHHHHHHH Congratulations, @blakelively, MILES, and @keleighteller!!!! Big group hug! I loved making this video, and it’s so cool to see the @acmawards nominate it for video of the year.” Swift wrote the song with Lively, and she also produced the video with Austin, Swift’s brother.
In September, the Gossip Girl alum posted pictures flaunting her baby bump on Instagram. The post included a cute photo of Lively as well. Lively wore a cute pink bikini and she embraced the pop star. She wore striped shorts and sported a casual look with a tank top and sunglasses.
Reynolds also mentioned Swift while he was promoting his film. There were speculations going on that Swift would appear for the Deadpool 3 premiere, and Reynolds noted that he would love it if she joined him.
The actor revealed that he is not just a fan of Swift, but his entire family too. They were fans of her Midnight album. He mentioned, “Oh, my God. Yes. I am not kidding—all of us, the entire house. I love it so much. I do, and so do Blake and my daughters. We love it. Obsessed.”
In November 2022, Swift was awarded the Favorite Pop Album at the American Music Awards. And yet again, she mentioned Lively in her speech. She said, “I want to take a moment to thank someone who directed the music video I Bet You Think About Me, my beautiful, brilliant friend, my director Blake Lively.”

Well, after a heartbreak, all a girl needs are some good times with her gal pals. Swift did the same as well. After she split with her long-term boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, she spent a night with her girls in New York.
She spent the night with some celebrity friends, who joined Tay and Blake. The Haim sisters and Gigi Hadid were there, to name a few. In March Lively went with Swift for her Eras Tour in Philadelphia and took her daughters with her.

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively spent a girl’s night with Brittany Mahomes and Sophie Turner the night before the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets again.
All her friends gathered to support Travis Kelce, Taylor’s new boyfriend, for his match on 1st October 2023. They all came to the stadium together for the game.
2024 And Still Going Strong
Well, the friendship that started suddenly in 2015 is still going strong. Recently in May 2024, Lively’s daughters were seen at the concert enjoying Tay’s music. Several fans posted videos of them on X. Afterwards Swift addressed her audience and mentioned Lively’s daughters.
They have come a long way, and we all hope this sweet bond between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively stays the same. They have been by each other through thick and thin, and I hope that this bond remains the same in the future.
