In the space of the last ten or so years, vaping, or the e-cigarette has become a global sensation.
Most smokers, if you ask them, will say they want to quit. Vaping has offered many people a transition away from the life of tar and tobacco, and nowadays it seems you’re more likely to be hit by a pleasant peachy mist as you walk down the street rather than a cloud of smoke.
With over three million users in the UK alone, vaping culture looks here to stay. As for the ‘vaping experience’, it turns out getting the most from your vape is actually quite a complex thing.
With that in mind, here’s how to reach peak vape enjoyment.
Know Your Styles:
One of the more difficult elements of transition from smoking to vaping is finding a style that works for you. There’s no universal best practice, instead of three methods to consider.
- Mouth hit: The simplest way to enjoy the vapour and gives your lungs a rest. Simply inhale and circulate around your mouth to enjoy the flavour of your vape. The nicotine will be absorbed through the mouth and nose to settle your craving. Exhaling through the nose will enhance the flavour experience.
- Mouth to lung: Most akin to the way you would smoke a cigarette, thus a great technique for those making the move across. Draw the vapour into your mouth first, hold for a few seconds to enjoy the flavour, then inhale to the lungs to experience that familiar smoking-esque feel.
- Direct to lung: For the advanced vapers looking for a more intense hit and a visual show at the end of it, direct to the lung is taking a deep breath that takes the vapour straight to the lungs for optimum nicotine absorption and a big cloud of vapour on release.
Choose the Right E-Liquid:
It’s a choice between propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerine (VG) but finding the right liquid for you can be a lengthy case of trial and error. PG liquid offers a more intense flavour and stronger hit, while VG liquid is better for big plumes of vapour on exhaling.
It’s a matter of experimentation with both and various flavours to find your perfect partner.
Don’t Get Ahead of Yourself:
As mentioned above, vaping is a more complex game than the unknowing person would suspect so, if you’re new to the scene, don’t rush the technicalities.
Before you get going, do some research around a good beginner setup and what sounds best to you. From there it’s important to understand the different features of more advanced devices, so when it comes to using them you’re not experiencing dry hits or burning your coil.
Talk to friends who already vape, look online and visit your local vape shop to get some professional advice.
Once you’ve done your research, it’s a case of finding the best methods to suit you. From there, you’re ready to join the vaping revolution sweeping the world.
