Additionally, it was the first Olympic Games where the opening ceremony did not occur in a stadium. Instead, the capital city of France became the stage for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Furthermore, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games seem more robust than ever, especially for the U.S.A. team. So far, the U.S. team has won the highest number of medals in the first weekend of the international games.

US Shining In Paris Olympics!

The U.S. has the most Olympic medals in the Paris Games till now, with 12 medals in total. At the end of the Sunday event, team U.S.A. won 12 medals, including three gold medals. However, this is not the first time the U.S. won the greatest number of Olympic medals.

In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the U.S. dominated the international games with 113 medals. It was the only country to win over 100 medals in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

So far, the U.S.A. has won 12 medals in the 2024 Olympic Games, including two gold medals in swimming and one in fencing. Simultaneously, France followed the U.S. in the second position with eight medals three of which were gold medals.

Following France, in third place is Japan, which has seven medals and four gold medals. However, the International Olympic Committee does not list countries based on the number of Olympic medals.

However, it does mention that the U.S. tops the chart if a list is created for the number of medals won by a country in the Olympics.

Why The U.S. Wins So Many Olympic Gold Medals?

The Olympic Foundation of Culture and Heritage is an organization that is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the “leading international exponent in disseminating, and promoting and Olympism in the fields of culture, heritage and values- Olympians Katie Ledecky, and Michael Phelps are both from the area. based education.”

This organization keeps a count of the medals each country wins. According to the Olympic Foundation, the U.S. has 2,975 Olympic medals in the history of the Olympics. As per their record, the U.S. has 1,179 gold medals in total.

According to C.B.S. News, “if Maryland was a country competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics, it would hold the second-most gold medals.”

Micheal Phelps, the Greatest of All Time, aka G.O.A.T., is the greatest Olympian athlete in history. He has won 28 medals in Olympic history, with 23 gold medals. Additionally, he has two bronze and three silver medals.

Furthermore, another reason the U.S.A. team won so much gold in the Olympics is that the country has many strong athletes. The diversity in population and the competitive nature of the Americans make it possible for the U.S. to win so many Olympic medals.

The Most Olympic Medals In The 2024 Paris Games

Torri Huske won the most Olympic medals in the Paris Games along with Gretchen Walsh and Zhang Yufei. Individually, these three athletes won 2 medals each, yet the U.S.A. team won because both Huske and Walsh tied with two medals each from the U.S.

Torri Huske won one gold and one silver in swimming, and Gretchen Welsh won 2 silvers in both swimming. Therefore, the most Olympic medals in the Paris Games individually go-to team U.S.A.

According to a Reddit user, the U.S. got so many Olympic medals because of the country’s size and wealth.
