DIY home projects can require a variety of different tools, and it’s important to be prepared and have as much as possible already available before you start working on something new.

1. Quality Screwdriver Set
Screwdrivers always come in handy for a variety of home projects. The more you have, the better. You should set yourself up with a good variety of different models, including a high-end set of precision screwdrivers and ideally a power model.
Quality goes a long way here if you don’t want to replace your sets every few months. If you’re active with your DIY home projects, you’re going to run through cheaper screwdrivers very quickly.

2. Measuring Tools
A good tape measure is something else you’ll want to have in your workshop, preferably in different versions. A soft measure is sometimes more useful than standard metal rolls.
A transparent ruler will also frequently find a place in your tasks, so keep one around as well. There isn’t really much to pay attention to with regards to quality when investing in measuring tools.
With one major exception – level tools. For those, it’s always worth going the extra mile for something of a higher quality.
3. Drill
Many projects also call for a drill every now and then. It might not even be obvious from the beginning, such as working on firearm home projects. 80 lowers only need finishing with a standard drill and router, for example.
So having a reliable model around can definitely come in handy in those types of projects. Pay attention to how you’re running power for the drill and other power tools as well. If you don’t get on top of this as early as possible, it’s going to get very problematic in the long run.
4. Cutters
Last but not least, have a variety of different cutters available. Small wire cutters can be useful for many tasks beyond their default purpose of cutting wires.
Unfortunately, if you use them in this manner, you’re also going to destroy them faster. This means that you should keep at least a few pairs around so you can more readily replace the ones you’re going through if they break in the middle of an important part of your project.
With time, your home workshop is going to grow. You’re going to identify various tools and supplies that come up more frequently in your work, and you will know what to focus your search on as time goes by.
It’s good to keep a list because you might not be able to purchase the tools you need straight away. Keeping an organized approach to this is important if you want to minimize your expenses in the long run and avoid turning this hobby into a more expensive one than you anticipated.
