Is Mr. Scooter Braun, owner of SB Projects, losing many high-profile clients recently? Demi Lovato announces split from longtime manager Scooter Braun which Billboard first reported on 21 August!
The split was finalized last month, and Lovato is seeking new management. This news came after rumors of Justin Beiber separating from Braun were doing rounds in the past few days! Even though representatives of both Braun and Beiber have denied the reports!
Yet SB Projects, the management company owned by Braun, is partially out of the woodwork, especially when Ariana Grande also announced leaving the management company and his owner.
Two of the popular artists leaving the management is bound to raise eyebrows, especially when the association has been long-term. Grande has been managed by Braun since 2013, while Lovato signed up with Braun in 2019.
There is some fire to this smoke as sources inform that Beiber is considering dropping SB projects and Scooter Braun from his position as the artist’s manager. Another popular Columbian singer artist J Balvin has also left Scooter Braun’s management early this year!
There might be a tipping point from which all these issues started leading to Taylor Swift condemning him! Braun purchased Taylor Swift’s label Big Machine Records, which had quite a history. In 2019, he also purchased the rights to the master recordings of her first six studio albums.
Taylor had wanted to buy the masters during sales in 2020; however, Braun sold it for over $300 million to an investment fund. It is due to this reason that Swift labeled Braun a bully and condemned him by saying that he is an example of “toxic male privilege” in the music industry!
Overall, Braun seems to drown in controversy as singers seem to leave his management! There must be some reason behind these separations. However, the artists have yet to give a reason for the split!
